故事大纲：
郭向海（李南星饰演）和郭义海（李名顺饰演）是两兄弟，两人个性南辕北辙，哥哥郭向海是个鸡饭摊助理，个性稳重；弟弟郭义海是个导游，个性风趣。

千金小姐黄倩云（刘芷绚饰演）对郭向海一往情深；郭义海也对黄倩云产生了感情……郭义海想经营度假村，却筹集不到资金。郭向海因而求助于黄倩云的父亲黄百万（刘谦益饰演）。

正当度假村的筹备计划进行得如火如荼时，黄家出现了一名不速之客――岑安琪（洪乙心饰演）。岑安琪是黄百万的私生女，黄百万把她安排在度假村工作，岑安琪在和郭义海长期相处后，对他产生了情愫。

另一方面，黄倩云身边有个追求者巫赐铭（林明伦饰演），他因爱生恨，准备和岑安琪合作陷害黄家。岑安琪得知向海是郭家的养子，其亲父是罪犯，她因此故意在黄百万面前抖出真相，让倩云与向海情海生波。这时郭向海由于被巫赐铭陷害，阴差阳错造成郭家夫妇出车祸丧命。郭义海为此不肯原谅郭向海，兄弟决裂。

郭向海也误以为自己害死了养父母，黯然离开马来西亚到新加坡。后来在程晓萱（欧萱饰演）的鼓励下，经营鸡饭生意。郭向海离开以后，黄倩云都郁郁寡欢，郭义海一直陪在她的身边安慰她。岑安琪看了醋意大发，继而勾结巫赐铭，谋夺黄百万的财产，更导致黄百万中风瘫痪。

后来，岑安琪与巫赐铭内讧，赐铭不甘被岑安琪利用，欲置她于死地。黄倩云为了救岑安琪而受伤昏迷不醒，岑安琪则在混乱中错手杀死了赐铭。

郭向海得知黄倩云出意外，对她照顾得无微不至，程晓萱黯然退出。而，岑安琪因误杀罪被判坐牢，郭义海坚持等她出来，岑安琪感动不已。

到底郭向海、黄倩云和程晓萱之间的三角恋有什么样的结果呢？郭向海、义海两兄弟能否恢复兄弟情谊呢？

Fortune cookie prophecy realised: Apple releases album!

More than a year ago, Apple Hong broke open a fortune cookie at a Chinese restaurant and the note within prophesizes: ‘Proceed to sing happily!’ Now, the actress has released a chart-topping EP in Malaysia and her debut record go on sale in Singapore today July 28!

Obviously, the fortune cookie served at Chinese restaurants (which first originated in the United States) isn’t as kitschy or phoney as I thought. Our story began more than a year ago at the Portrait of Home press conference held at a Chinese restaurant off Beach Road. In attendance was Apple Hong, actress and aspiring singer.

She broke open a fortune cookie and the thin strip of paper within read: ‘Kai xin de chang ba!’ (Proceed to sing happily!). I commented to Apple offhandedly that perhaps her chance to record an album is here.

Unknown to the public, this first runner-up of Star Search 1999 was already holding hush-hushed talks then with a friend in the recording industry in Malaysia. “Getting the fortune cookie message was almost like Heaven is giving me approval too!” she cooed.

Three weeks ago on July 7, Apple released her debut EP titled Ping Guo Lian Se (roughly translated as Apple’s Expression) in Malaysia. The EP hits local stores today and local Mandarin radio station Y.E.S 93.3FM has been playing her first track Lian Se since this week. Sales in her home country broke the 3,000 mark and demand has already exceeded supply!

Apple, already ecstatic that she has realized her dream of becoming a singer, is now absolutely thrilled to bits that her EP is selling like hot cakes in Malaysia, especially since music piracy in our neighbour country is as flourishing as Breadtalk’s $1 sales. “Piracy is so bad there that sales of 3,000 copies is already considered quite good,” she explained to us.

Not just Heaven-blessed, the actress/singer also received abundant well-wishes from her father and many friends and reportedly wept four times during the record promo conference in Malaysia!

As she recalled the day’s events, her eyes again welled up with tears. She said, “I was so happy that day; it felt almost like I was getting married! The make-up artiste warned me not to cry lest my make-up would be smeared, but the record company had planned the event well. One by one, they invited onto the stage friends who had helped me along the way. Their speeches were so touching and sincere that I broke down. Moreover, my father is a very nice man and he never lies, but because he and the record company wanted to give me a surprise, my father told me that he couldn’t come to the press conference. When he suddenly appeared, I wept even harder! He said it was so tough for him to lie to his daughter!”

Preparation for the record took more than a year; from gathering songs to recording them in Kuala Lumpur amidst her tight filming schedule here for her new drama Through It All (Hai De Er Zi), which airs August 15 at 7pm on Channel 8. When asked why she chose to release the six-track EP (short for Extended Play) in Malaysia first rather than in Singapore where the extent of her popularity is significantly larger, she replied, “Although I’m Malaysian, I’m not a public figure there so they are more likely to view me as a singer first and foremost rather than an actress. It’s because of the optimistic sales in Malaysia that I have the guts to release the EP in Singapore!”

Naturally, Apple was worried that her ‘nobody’ status in Malaysia would hurt record sales but fortunately, the Malaysian record company didn’t skive on promoting the record, and Apple often returned to the peninsula in the past month for radio, TV and press interviews. The company also pulled out all the stops when filming the music video for Lian Se, a song about the life of an actress. The making of the video cost a five-figure sum and involved Malaysia’s new talent David Lee who embellished the video with many special effects and graphics.

Even with seven years of acting under her belt, the requirements of the music video still tested Apple’s acting chops, having had to portray expressions of laughter, tears, joy and hesitance. A scene where Apple had to spin around continuously nearly gave her a black-out but still she persisted until the director was satisfied.

All the songs in Ping Guo Lian Se are tailored specially for Apple and the EP is now available in Singapore. The tracks include Lian Se; Na Feng Qing Shu; Na Nian Na Tian; Tian Shang Xing, Di Shang Hua; You Chang Jia Qi; and Beautiful Birthday.

Also catch Apple in the Channel 8 drama Through It All every Mon-Fri from Aug 15 at 7pm. The drama also stars Li Nanxing, Christopher Lee, Darren Lim, Jesseca Liu, Jeanette Aw and Liu Qianyi.

　　《海的儿子》让李南星和李名顺两大小生多年后再度合作，其中李南星还跟小他一辈的刘芷绚、欧萱大演感情戏。记者会主持人蓝顉嘻开起李阿哥的玩笑说：“你拍戏的时候，欧萱还没出生吧？”

　　欧萱笑说：“有啦，我念小学的时候就看他的戏……”

　　李南星很得意地说：“她一直问我，为什么你左看右看都不老的。”

　　蓝顉嘻又问刘芷绚，李南星、李名顺、林明伦几个男演员当中，她最想找谁当男朋友，李南星忽然插嘴：“刘谦益已经出局了，不必选。”

　　刘谦益大声抗议说：“你不要这样对我，以前我们是同班的（指电视台演员训练班）！”然后望着众女主角，又大声补充：“总有一天我会等到她们的！以前演我的女儿的，后来都演了我的老婆，所以你不要把我隔离，总有一天她们会演我的老婆的！”

　　一席话引起哄堂，也“赢”得美人心，因为刘芷绚说：“那我选谦益大哥好了，以后做他的女朋友！”

　　由新传媒与马来西亚广播电视台（RTM）合拍的家庭伦理剧《海的儿子》，讲述马六甲渔村的李南星、李名顺两兄弟，一起爱上了黄梨大王刘谦益的刁蛮千金刘芷绚，后来两兄弟因故反目，李南星又认识了小家碧玉欧萱，在她的鼓励下恢复斗志开摊卖鸡饭。洪乙心是刘芷绚同父异母的姐姐，因母亲跳楼失忆，而对刘谦益怀恨在心，便跟追求刘芷绚不果的林明伦联手展开复仇计划。

　　20集的《海》从8月15日起晚上7点播出，监制是王尤红，故事人是陈耀、陈秀群、谢俊源。

甜姐儿洪乙心准备与新传媒续约两年。

　　洪乙心与新传媒的合约上个月15日期满，目前是以延长旧约的方式与新传媒合作。上周六到IMM为《海的儿子》宣传的她精神饱满，样子比以前更亮丽，穿着性感露肩装的她还理了个秀丽的新发型，她说：“其实很忙，没仔细看合约，不过我应该会签，因为我在戏剧上还有发展空间。”

　　她说新合约较具灵活性，她可以做自己想做的一些事。问及薪水调高了多少，她笑笑说：“这个年头不谈这个，最重要是双方可以理出一个舒服的合作方式。”

　　新合约还未签，洪乙心其实也够忙的，不久前在家乡马来西亚推出处女作EP《苹果脸色》。唱歌一直是她非常感兴趣的事，她兴奋的透露：“上了畅销龙虎榜，已经两周了！”《苹》首推是3000张，接下来将补货。她说《苹》成绩不俗，因为马来西亚的媒体很支持。

　　为专辑卯足力宣传的她说：“演员与歌手是不一样的，歌手是独立的，例如出席记者会，大家都把目光放在歌手身上。”她坦承在筹备《苹》时，原担心大家认为她是玩票性质：“还是敢敢去做，尽量把它做到最好。”问她若有唱片公司听了《苹》后，找她签约，她说：“我很会开心，会看条件来决定是否签约。”

Apple Bites into a singing career

Apple Hong is going to be a singer. The 28-year-old MediaCorp actress released her debut EP, The Colour Of Apple, in Malaysia last Friend. It contains six songs and boasts contributions from some of Malaysia's finest musicians. Her good friend and reputed songwriter Li Zhiqing, who has penned hits for the likes of a-do and Wakin Chau, supervised Apple's project.

Apple told The New Paper that she got the idea for an album while having a casual chat with her music industry friends years ago, before she entered showbiz.

But she only took the offer seriously 18 month ago.

Even then, Apple kept silent over her recording project. She only let her managers know about her upcoming EP after she had recorded two of the tracks.

The Malaysia-born Apple said: "I didn't think my contract with the company would allow me to cut an album at first. But our contracts have become more flexible."

While Apple insisted that she never thought of becoming a singer, she has always loved singing.

In a secondary school singing contest, she won a consolation prize for her rendition of the theme song MU Yang Qu from the hit movie Shaolin Temple.

She started taking singing lessons from a teacher whom her friend recommended when she joined MediaWorks five years ago.

"My teacher say that I have quite a unique voice, because my singing voice and talking voice are quite different."

While actresses like Fann Wong, Phyllis Quek and Ann Kok have released albums to limited success, Apple is trying not to let that get her down.

This is another reason why she chose Malaysia over Singapore to launch her album.

It will only be out in Singapore later this year when she can take time off her acting schedule to promote the EP.

"The audience in Singapore might think, 'Another actress trying to sing this time?' and may not be so receptive."

"Whereas in Malaysia, I've never appeared on TV there...so it will be easier for me to establish myself as a singer there."

"Maybe my EP will bomb or maybe it will be a success, I really can't say. What matters is that I did my best, and this EP is a milestone in my life."

Apple was nominated for the new comers award with her pretty looks; she was often saying to be Su Qi and Song Hui Qiao look-alike. Because of this, she achieves many chances to act in different variety show. In year 2001, she was given a chance to join either TCS or Channel U and she decided to lay her faith in Channel U. A little-known fact is that Apple was already a host for a Chinese infotainment programme while pursuing her degree in Malaysia Institute of Arts (majoring in TV production). Adding to her hosting experiences are programmes like (都市男女) and (食不可挡) with famous TV chef Chen Hong in Taiwan. Of the various dramas, Apple has also been involved in many regional co-productions acting alongside international artistes like Ouyang Zhen Hua (欧阳震华), Nick Cheung (张家辉), Anita Yuen (袁咏仪), Qin Han (秦汉), Mi Xue (米雪) and Ng Meng Tat (吴孟达).
